The Case of the Tuesdays (Part XXII)

- Christopher Walken cooks -- If this were a series, I'd watch it, just to see what Walken might do
- Speaking of Walken, lets not forget to show my favorite SNL skit with him -- The Census
- Rabbit out smarts falcon
- If you really want to waste time, but also challenge your mind, take this (Mensa) quiz that tests your intelligence. No cheating! I actually got 22 of them -- all luck (and it took me an hour or more, Abigail actually helped me out)
- I've gotten away from being personal or revealing (much) on this site, perhaps that's a bad thing, but I saw this story (right out of The Exorcist) and really was thrown back. I had 2 thoughts. 1) These people are religious nut jobs who decide that the behavior of the 3 year old child is better called "demonic" than disobedient. 2) What if the child was really possessed; the Bible talks of many instances of Jesus healing those possessed, that demons are real, what if these were an act of exorcism and not abuse and the police killed a man for doing what was needed? We're a culture very cynical about anything religious (especially when its of the "organized" nature), and especially if its a majority religion -- as opposed to fringe (our culture also likes to tear apart the majority), and I'm no different when I hear these stories; my first reaction is "these people are nuts". But what do I know?
- I can go to jail for that? Its illegal to fish while wearing pajama's in Chicago. A new book about the strange laws still "on the books" in cities all over America
- VW Phaeton -- Shadowplay. Amazing.
- Worst driver in the world. Watch out for those large, immovable walls. This woman driver is a close second
- Every 80's cartoon opening you could ever want. Man, I watched so many of these; its sad really. And for good measure, let's throw in a healthy dose of the commercials that accompanied those cartoons
- I thought for a second that I might be a giant, funny clip from the sketch show Spaced Out Big Train (with Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost Simon Pegg)
- When street magic goes wrong
- Dubai is nuts. See the transition, construction and future plans for the astonishing lush, lavish, exploding city of Dubai (how is all this growth sustained? Oil?)

Hey Paul, the clip with Simon Pegg is from an early sketch show called "Big Train", which featured loads of British comedians and wasn't really a Pegg vehicle (since you're asking :-)),
Spaced came after this...

Oh, yeah, and as you might've guessed, that was Simon Pegg (the other one from Hot Fuzz).

I'm sorry ... it is Simon, you're right. I wasn't sure where the clip was from, just took a wild guess. Let me change those.

@Trees -- Mr. Cryptic. I assume you mean in terms of the demon possession? I'm not too sure of that, that dog ...

I think the little old lady scared me more than the ghosts in Poltergeist....

The whole demon possession thing is tackled well in The Exorcism of Emily Rose...people trying to figure out what's going on in the midst of very mysterious situations.

I have not yet seen Emily Rose; I've heard its great --- funny, Trees and I were talking about that movie at lunch. I know I'd have to watch it alone, Sonya would get freaked out.

This may not come as a surprise, but The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a rather disturbing movie. It was very well done, but I would not want to see it again. True or not, the movie crosses the line between entertainment and real life pain. Details and special effects aside, it feels real.
