For awhile innovative home manufacturers have been making modular home systems -- wall pre-fabricated in a factory, with built in windows, insulation and drywall, that can quickly and efficiently be installed on a home site. For decades those have been uninspired, cookie-cutter, lackluster designed homes, functional yet ugly. Over the past few years there has emerged several modular home designers pushing the envelop and showcase simplicity, functionality and beauty. Luke showed me this site: LivingHomes -- and now I want to build a modular home badly (too bad my favorite would cost $900,000, without land or other expenses).
