Misunderstandings May Elicit an Attack
by Sonya (3 Comments)
As I eat my breakfast (sitting down for once!) Elliott approaches and says what only can be interpreted by me as, "where is the 'level'." to which I say, "the level?" He looks at me and says it again; "the WEVEL". (a short prayer is now uttered in my head, "dear Lord, what is he saying?". I repeat, "the Wevel?!" and he looks at me and we both laugh, but he is frustrated and at HIS witt's end (wich is apparantly not a long distance for him to travel) and he runs off behind the couch yelling an Elliott sort of profanity; "I'M GOING TO KICK YOU IN THE BUTT!!!!"
Oh, Lord. I finally realize he is trying to say, "Weather," since I told them 20 minutes ago I was going to look up the weather in Florida (we're going to Disney World for Christmas next week). I said it to Abigail actually, but Elliott (the Incredible Hulk of anger) overheard.
So, to patch up things I tell my hiding son that I did my best to hear and that sometimes even grownups misunderstand what each other is saying, I being one of them, but that's another story! I hope a grown up doesn't threaten to kick me in the butt when I don't understand them either.

Recap: Lost (S3E3)

This is long, so be prepared...
What we learned:
John Locke. We John pick up a hitchhiker (who looks familiar from some show), and they're then pulled over (where we find John is carrying a TON of guns in the bed of a truck). John then takes this boy to a commune/compound of a religious cult. Eddie (hitchhiker) and Locke are then seen chumming around on the compound. And then there's "the greenhouse". Weed, weed, weed. Eddie is a cop, and John is again an outcast in a "family". On a hunt Locke confronts Eddie (on being a cop) but let Eddie go.
What we don't know:
Horrified Kate, screaming Henry "DO YOU LOVE THIS MAN". A captured Sawyer. Needles. More screaming. Jack looking ... Jackish. More screaming. "DO. YOU. LOVE. HIM!". Kate, "Yes, I LOVE him"
I loved the style change for Locke's vision (something new, yet fitting). Overall another quality episode, revealing small amounts while still propelling us forward in story. By the way, if you haven't already, start to watch Heroes and 30 Rock, both excellent new series.
FREE Ben and Jerry's!
by Paul (4 Comments)
Today is Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry's. So if you have one in your town, be sure to go between noon and 8pm today (Tuesday, April 25th) and partake of their goodness. Unfortunately I don't think we have one near us ... suck.
Google Translator is the funny

I often get foreign spam mail (I attribute it to my CIVA email account - which in China is the Chinese International Volunteer Association). I occasionally like to open one, and do a translation on it.
I came many round, east under the Burma means, had to become vip member? How am I the vegetable bird become ~~!
We went, we saw, we ...

... had fun (I had no idea what else to say, I'm truly uninspired). We literally Just got back to my parents house about an hour ago (pathetic that I'm on the computer; no? work calls, and the kids are out at Dutch Wonderland with mom and dad).
We walked and walked and walked. No subway trips this time around, it just feels better to walk around and see everything: see all the people walking to and fro in great gops of hurry, and smell the pretzels and hot dogs and roasted honey almonds, get dripped on by A/C Units, scurry through intersections and avoid yellow cabs. Nothing like it. It felt great to be back in NYC. My legs hurt. My eyes hurt. But we back and safe ... more later (many pictures).
