So we’ve been here only 2 weeks which means its hardly enough time to call this a “continual” issue, but so far Mr. Trashman – also called Rumpke – has yet to pick up our trash.
Last week we had quite a bit on the curb. We had even called about a special pick up for a large item (which now for some reason I can’t remember what it was). They went through the neighborhood and just happened to pass us by. Certainly forgivable since we are new and just moved in and all. So we call Mr. Trashman and tell them – they come by later that day. Problem solved.
This morning around 7:15am I hear the truck beep beep beep hissssss – stop. I gaze out the window. They pull to Steve’s house (the house to our left), unload the cans, go forward – beep beep beep hissssss – stop – right past our house and onto our neighbors’ to the right. What the?
Don’t they see trashcans! There are 4 of them PLUS single garbage bags – bright white ones at that (and on an overcast day they glow like the red-hot skin of a country farmer on the beach). It’s all there at the end of our driveway. With collapsed boxes in a bundle (as specified by them). Are they invisible? Do they smell bad? Was it arranged to messy? Too trashy? What gives? and unlike in the city of Cincinnati, we have to pay for trash pick up here; I think $10 a month – and we paid already, so it can’t be some clipboard chart they have with our house number and a big red X next to it.
Ugh. I hate taking out the trash as it is (and that was when I knew it would be picked up). What\’s the motivation now …
