It\’s been a summer full of changes and I have been blessed beyond belief. It is funny how I am surprised by God\’s goodness; why am I surprised?! I believe God is good, right? Well, I guess I’m surprised by the way He shows His goodness to us in ways we could have never planned if we could make goodness come of our own efforts – we can’t though, and it’s a good thing because I have learned that God truly knows what will bless me.
I did not know that we would get to begin a friendship with the neighbors that live behind us and it is sooo good. They have three wonderful daughters, one who is Abigail’s age and Abigail has already enjoyed playing with her a handful of times since the 2 months we’ve been here. Elliott really likes (I should say LOVES) the girls too; especially Rachel, who is 10; he asks me often when he will be 10 like Rachel. I just feel so much richer having them in my life now. Just today, the kids were invited to come swim in their blow-up pool and I was welcomed to come and talk with the girls Mom who I adore as well, and another new friend of hers; it is heartwarming to be so welcomed into someone’s home like that.
I’ve had the opportunity to have Paula and the girls over for coffee and breakfast too before we jumped into getting our families ready for the changes that the new school season has brought and I am looking forward to making more memories.
We are now only 6 minutes away from the Hartsocks which has given us the opportunity to live alongside them and be a part of each other’s lives in ways that the half hour distance made difficult before; again, it was an unexpected blessing.
Basically, I feel more connected each passing day. I love my church and the people who have a passion and a vision for it. I enjoyed my time helping in the nursery this past Sunday and getting to know other families after the service at the café. It’s all good; and I think that is the first time I’ve seen that phrase used correctly =-)
I love you all, my friends, those who haven’t been mentioned, who are in my thoughts and in my heart; hope our paths meet very soon. Until then, I am blooming where we’ve been planted, and loving it!!
