Please Lord, make them go away

Brave Sonya. She was able to catch 2 cicada’s, at the request of Abigail – who is inexplicably in love with the amorous bug. She named them “Wing” and “Wing” and kept them in a small, frosted plastic bucket (the kind that sidewalk chalk or a zoo of toy animals is kept in). She carried them with her everywhere, talking to them, laughing, carrying on. “Wing” just stared his blank, red-eyed evil stare. “Wing” seemed fairly comatose.

Last night she let them “free”. This morning there was a cicada attached to the screen of our kitchen window (above the sink). Abbie said it was “Wing” attempting to get back inside because he missed her. This would otherwise be an “awww” moment. But it’s a bug. I just shivered and feigned happiness. Then she requested that I get two more for her to keep, after school. Looks like I’ll have to “be busy”. Wing and Wing?
