As Paul hunkered down and worked his butt off, putting up two more sections of fence, I planted my first tomatoes with the assistance of Elliott and Abigail. We were outside a good portion of the day, using our hands in various ways. I sure hope we get some beautiful tomatoes come June.
I think I was more encouraged to try growing tomatoes after the success of the tulip bulbs which the kids and I planted late last summer/early fall. Almost all of them have come up this spring and stand tall and proud, showing off the beautiful colors God so creatively gave them. Everyday Abigail comes home from school and says, “Mommy, can I go check on the tulips!?”.
New growth is a miracle and a blessing. I am thankful for the new growth in my personal life, in my husband’s life, and in the lives of my children, and I am rejuvenated as I see it in nature, all around me; who can help but notice God?
